AINDT Provides several avenues to help you achieve your recertification goals. We offer a wide variety of online Nondestructive Testing courses that meet the AWS QC-1 requirements for Continuing Education to accumulate 80 PDHs (Professional Development hours).

AINDT also provides online CWI endorsement training courses to help you pass your CWI endorsement exam. Achieving one or more AWS endorsements prior to your CWI 9-year recertification deadline will meet the requirements without further examination, professional development hours, or seminar requirements.
As an AWS Certified Welding Inspector or Senior Certified Welding Inspector, you must renew your certification every three years. Every nine years, you must recertify, either by examination, obtaining approved endorsements, by recertification course, or by demonstrating 80 hours of continuing education, along with other requirements. Neglecting to recertify prior to your expiration will result in the loss of your certification status and will require you to retest on all parts of the original exam to regain your certification.

These options are designed to make the process easy, but with each path having its own set of requirements it can be tough to decide about how to recertify.
Some potential options for your CWI 9 Year Recertification are:
1. Examination: Retaking the Part B of the CWI exam. This hands-on test covers a wide range of topics including welding examination and nondestructive test processes, with a focus on visual inspection. If you’re a Senior Certified Welding Inspector, you’ll need to retake the entirety of the exam.
2. Continuing Education: Throughout the nine years leading up to your recertification, you can accumulate Professional Development Hours (PDH). If you accumulate 80 PDHs you can apply to be certified without taking Part B of the CWI exam. The most common approach is participating in any classroom, correspondence, or distance learning in one or more subject areas listed in AWS B5.1, Table 1. All PDHs claimed must be accompanied by a course description and certificate of completion indicating the number of contact hours.
3. Acquiring an Endorsement: Achieving one or more AWS endorsements prior to your CWI 9-year recertification deadline will meet the requirements without further examination, professional development hours, or seminar requirements. However not all endorsements meet the recertification requirement and taking an endorsement on the same code you took during the CWI exam is not permitted.
Let us customize a training program for you that meets your training requirements.
