Introduction to Destructive and Nondestructive Examination $199
ICC PREFERRED PROVIDER COURSE # 19028 6 HOURS/0.6 CEU
Many of those involved in the welding industry will be exposed to destructive and nondestructive testing at some point in their career. Wouldn’t it be great if you understood what the technician is talking about? What does CVN mean? What is shearwave? Why can’t we do MT on aluminum? What do you mean I shouldn’t try to radiograph a T-joint? In this 6hr course we will discuss the basics of Destructive and Nondestructive Examination methods and how they are used in the construction industry. Some of the testing methods we will cover are:
- Tensile Testing
- Fracture Toughness Tests
- Liquid Penetrant
Aside from the various methods we will discuss, we will also go over the common NDT certification schemes used in the United States. NDT qualifications are typically governed by one’s employer with guidelines established by the American Society of Nondestructive Testing. But its not that simple, over the years the process to becoming a qualified NDT technician has become very complicated. We will cover certification schemes in a step by step method to ensure understanding. This course is parts of Modules 6&7 of AINDT’s CWI Fundamental Training.
